Together We Can
LAKE TYLER ASSOCIATION
Who We Are
Our Mission
To ensure safety and fun while preserving the water quality for all of those who love Lake Tyler.
Our Story
The Lake Tyler Association is a non-profit association of lakeshore residents located on Lake Tyler with over 900 families, businesses, and stakeholders. We wish to promote a safe and secure environment at Lake Tyler and improve the quality of life for current users and for future generations. One of our goals is to be a partner with the city of Tyler and other governing agencies to enhance and preserve Lake Tyler’s water quality and other natural resources. For several decades, we have provided opportunities through a forum for residents to participate in achieving our goals. Within the past couple of years, we have expanded the forums to allow a more effective way to communicate with the residents and provide a space for sponsors to advertise their businesses.

Message from the Incoming President
Teresa Hetrick
2026 LTA President
We are off to a good start for 2026 and I look forward to working with everyone to make this the best year ever
for LTA! Our focus on improving communications will continue to be a priority. We are expanding our reach
with a refreshed website, a multipage newsletter that will now be coming out twice a year (based on request
from our members) and continued outreach via our Block Captain program. I want to thank everyone that has
helped me the last few years and have been extremely patient with me as webmaster and newsletter editor. I
will be passing the labor-intensive part of that work to two very talented TJC Interns so that I can focus on my
new duties as President. There is another exciting change that grew from the expansion of the website and
newsletter, that has allowed our communications committee to develop a new sponsor strategy, a way to create
additional value to the donors and business that partner with us in our community. You can find the details on
our website!
Our Events team worked hard in 2025 to deliver captivating events that excite and inspire us. They will be
working on ways to grow the fun and deliver more while enhancing our connection with our lake community.
In the local government area, we have seen increased communications and activities from the City of Tyler in
the last year with the Master Plan, Ordinance Updates, and planning for upcoming boat dock inspections. We
look forward to working more closely with the Tyler Water Utility and expect more communications based on a
mutual commitment to strengthen our partnership. I will close with my wish for health and prosperity for each of you and your families and remind anyone that wants to join us on a committee, volunteer for an event, run for the board or just give feedback on where you would like to see us focus our time and energy this year to go to the website and send us a note! Be looking for a survey opportunity in Q2 of 2026 to help the board set and align our priorities! Let’s make this a year to remember!
Sincerely,
Teresa Hetrick
2026 LTA President
